Anna Brugmann is the Public Policy and Program Associate for Rebuild Local News coalition and Report for America. Previously, Anna interned at the Center for Journalism and Liberty, the Washington Monthly and Current, the publication about public media.
She worked as a community journalist in Sarasota, Florida and covered health for the Columbia Daily Tribune, her hometown newspaper in Columbia, Missouri. She was also a researcher at the Washington Post where she contributed to analyses of pre- and post-election litigation.
She served in the Peace Corps from 2018-2020 in Albania, where she taught English and created a news literacy curriculum for Alabanian high school students.
She earned her B.A. University of Missouri-Columbia and her M.A. in Public Affairs and International Journalism at American University.
