The Visalia Times-Delta, where this reporter is based, is owned by Gannett. The California News Desert Initiative aims to promote content sharing among newsrooms so residents in under-covered communities get the news they need.

Staff includes 80 reporters, 23 editors and 49 additional staffers who produce news stories, video documentaries, investigative special projects, podcasts and other journalism. The newspaper is owned by Cox Enterprises, a family-owned company that has been in Atlanta since 1939.

The Midwest Center for Investigative Reporting is an award-winning investigative news site based in Champaign, Illinois. It serves the public by providing in-depth journalism on agribusiness and related topics and issues. It also seeks to provide the education and training of journalists and students to improve the quality and breadth of news coverage of agribusiness.The Midwest Center predominantly covers issues throughout 12 states in the heartland of the U.S, with a frequent focus on Illinois and rural communities.

Mountain Times Publications

Mountain Times Publications is composed of five weekly newspapers serving three rural counties of western North Carolina. The main newsroom is based in Boone, N.C., home to Appalachian State University's 19,000 students. The staff includes seven reporters and three editors to cover 100 square miles of mountain communities, many of which rely on the printed newspaper because internet access is limited.

The Statesman Journal covers the middle section of the Willamette Valley between Oregon’s coastal mountain range and the Cascade Mountains. The Gannett-owned newsroom is based in Salem, the state capital, about an hour from Portland and the Oregon coast. Its primary mission is governmental accountability and watchdog reporting in and around Salem and state government.

About the News Organization: The Modesto Bee, a McClatchy news organization, serves primarily the city of Modesto, Stanislaus County, and its surrounding cities and counties in the heart of California’s Central Valley and the Sierra foothills. KOSU Radio

Our broadcast signal covers a wide geographic area making up nearly two-thirds of the state of Oklahoma. The area ranges from Pauls Valley, about an hour south of Oklahoma City to Weatherford, about an hour west of Oklahoma City to Ponca City, near the state's northern border to Talequah on the state's eastern edge. We also reach portions of southeast Kansas, southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas. Our digital reach largely includes people from wider Oklahoma and our listening area but also includes a number of expats who use KOSU to keep in touch with their home state.
