Spotlight PA

Spotlight PA launched in 2019 and is now the largest newsroom dedicated to covering the state government and statewide issues in Pennsylvania. Focusing on investigative reporting, Spotlight PA, a nonprofit, delivers public service journalism at no cost to 77 newsroom partners throughout the state—a network that reaches 35 million people per month. Its journalism is changing the status quo in Harrisburg, the state capital, and driving meaningful policy change across the fifth-largest state in the country.

PublicSource

PublicSource is a nonprofit online news organization serving the Pittsburgh region. Its mission is to inspire critical thinking and bold ideas through local journalism rooted in facts, excellence, diverse voices and the pursuit of transparency. PublicSource produces in-depth and investigative journalism, public-service reporting, a podcast, powerful first-person storytelling and more, directly respond to the information needs of people in southwestern Pennsylvania.

WHYY

WHYY has been greater Philadelphia's leading public media company and PBS and NPR affiliate for 65 years, serving southeastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware. WHYY offers a robust regional news service supported by a newsroom with over 80 people, and its reporting can also be found online.

WPVI Television

WPVI is owned by The Walt Disney Company and is Philadelphia's ABC station. For more than 70 years WPVI has broadcast programs to viewers in the Delaware Valley, an area covering southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and southern New Jersey, currently representing over 8 million people.

Technical.ly

Technical.ly is a major part of narrating economic change for the communities we serve. We’re interested in second and third tier regional economies. We’ve reported on each of our communities for five or more years, the longest being Philadelphia for a decade. Our reporters are trained to be deeply ingrained in the communities we serve, while also holding perspective from around other local economies. We are read by serious technologists, experienced entrepreneurs and economic development leaders who allocate resources among constituencies.

Gabriela Martinez

Gabriela Martínez is a Puerto Rican multimedia journalist. She covers the intersection of race and identity in central Pennsylvania with a focus on the Latino community for WITF, a nonprofit multimedia organization in Harrisburg. Previously, she worked as an associate producer at Kentucky Educational Television, producing pieces on health equity in Kentucky's immigrant communities and the restoration of voting rights to former felons. At the PBS NewsHour, Martínez contributed stories to the digital politics team, and wrote pieces on gun trafficking and cockfighting in Puerto Rico. Fluent in Spanish, English and Russian, she was a Fulbright English teaching assistant in Russia, and holds a master's degree in multiplatform journalism from the University of Maryland. While there, Martínez and a team of student photojournalists produced a documentary series on opioid addiction in Maryland. It earned multiple honors, including a Best of Festival Award from the Broadcast Education Association.

Charlie Wolfson

Charlie Wolfson is a local government accountability reporter at PublicSource, a nonprofit newsroom dedicated to public service reporting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, his hometown. Wolfson focuses on policy, the impact of government programs and election procedure and access. For three years he reported for The Boston Globe, both while earning his bachelor’s degree in journalism at Northeastern University and after he graduated in 2020. Wolfson was a reporter and editor at The Huntington News, Northeastern’s student paper, including a term as editor-in-chief and an intense several months covering the university’s response to the early days of the pandemic. In early 2021 he interned at the Investigative Reporting Workshop at American University.

WITF

WITF is a public media organization, based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. We have a history of serving a 19-county region (nearly one-third of the state’s population) that dates back more than 50 years. We have been a leader in establishing collaborative projects and content verticals with other Pennsylvania public media organizations. WITF is a multimedia organization that delivers content to our regional audience online and on-air through our radio and television stations and website. The station’s content verticals include PA Post, Transforming Health and StateImpact Pennsylvania.
