Bri Hatch

Before joining RFA, Bri Hatch covered pre-K-12 and higher education for WYPR an NPR station in Baltimore. At WYPR they also spearheaded a cross-newsroom collaboration on issues being faced by young people in the city and the grassroots solutions working in their favor. Hatch fell in love with journalism by leading their college newspaper, called the Ring-tum Phi, in reporting on student criminal cases, protests for racial equity and mental health. They also reported on college diversity and student well-being for The Chronicle of Higher Education in 2022, earning a Hearst feature award for their piece about a misplaced Wizard of Oz dress. Outside of the newsroom, you can catch them reading a fantasy/historical fiction/autobiographical book at a local coffee shop or jamming out to any live music they can find.
