Tim Lampley is Report for America's recruitment manager. Lampley has more than 15 years of experience as an award-winning writer, producer, and reporter. Previously, he worked at Black Entertainment Television as a news segment producer for BET Tonight with Tavis Smiley. He also served as a field producer and on-air reporter. Other broadcast news positions Tim has held include overnight anchor at KSDK Newschannel 5 in St. Louis, general assignment reporter at WSIL-TV in Carterville, Illinois, anchor at WMBD-TV in Peoria, Illinois and WTVO-TV in Rockford, Illinois. In 2014, Tim was hired by two national networks as their only on-the-ground correspondent to cover the Ferguson uprising.
He has been actively involved in mentoring and assisting emerging journalists across the country.
Earl Johnson is Report for America's Vice President of Recruitment and Alumni Engagement. Johnson has over three decades of experience overseeing complex higher education operations in enrollment management and student services. While at The University of Tulsa, Johnson held multiple titles and responsibilities including Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Services, Associate Vice President and Dean of Admission, Vice President for Student Services and Executive Director of Development for Strategic Initiatives. As Vice President for Enrollment and Student Services, Johnson managed a large portfolio consisting of over 100 employees in critical areas charged with delivering on the student experience. During this period, The University of Tulsa realized some of its greatest admission and enrollment success.
Johnson was the first person of color to hold each leadership position and took great pride in opening doors of opportunity and supporting students to pursue their passion and life purpose through the attainment of a college education.
Meaghan McElroy is Report for America’s communications assistant. Previously, she has held communications internships with Urban Green Council, Auroville Consulting, and the NYS Parks FORCES program. She is a graduate of Ithaca College, where she studied journalism and environmental studies as a Park Scholar. As a student, Meaghan was an editor and webmaster for Alluvian, an environmental literary journal; writer for The Ithacan, Ithaca’s student-run newspaper; and a contributor for WRFI Community Radio. Other past experiences include agricultural researcher, freelance writer, and amateur student bagpiper.
Anna Brugmann is the Manager of Policy Development for the Rebuild Local News Coalition and Report for America. Previously, Anna interned at the Center for Journalism and Liberty, the Washington Monthly and Current, the publication about public media.
She worked as a community journalist in Sarasota, Florida and covered health for the Columbia Daily Tribune, her hometown newspaper in Columbia, Missouri. She was also a researcher at the Washington Post where she contributed to analyses of pre- and post-election litigation.
She served in the Peace Corps from 2018-2020 in Albania, where she taught English and created a news literacy curriculum for Alabanian high school students.
She earned her B.A. University of Missouri-Columbia and her M.A. in Public Affairs and International Journalism at American University.
