David Reed Fox, Report for America’s Director of Operations, has worked in the printing and publishing industry for the past 30 years. He is an experienced content operations professional with editorial experience ranging from creative to manuscript and from production to publication to both print and digital channels. During his 23-year tenure at Consumer Reports as Director, Content Operations, he led project and product teams to plan, develop, and implement prepress and production systems, print and web content management systems, digital asset management systems, database publishing systems, and editorial scheduling and workflow processes. Previous experience includes stints as a newsphoto editor at The Associated Press, account supervisor with a major public relations firm, managing editor of multiple trade magazines, as well as various editorial and production positions with graphic arts houses and prepress service bureaus. Fox has a BA in English from SUNY Binghamton and an MA in English and Literature from The University of Chicago.

Kevin Douglas Grant is The GroundTruth Project’s Co-founder and its Chief Development & Partnerships Officer​. Previously Senior Editor of Special Reports at GlobalPost, he has led reporting projects around the world and his work has been recognized by the Edward R. Murrow, Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University and Online Journalism Awards among others. He holds an M.A. in Online Journalism from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School, where he was a Dean’s Scholar and the founding Executive Editor of Annenberg’s pioneering news organization Neon Tommy. Grant is the former Operations Director of semantic news aggregator Inform.com. He is currently based in Washington, D.C. and is pursuing a Media Transformation Challenge at Poynter, while also working on a project about religious leaders worldwide as a journalism fellow at USC Center for Religion and Civic Culture.

Rachel is Vice President of Program Operations for Report for America. Her work includes training, program evaluation, data and operations. She has worked as managing editor of The GroundTruth Project and managing producer of the GroundTruth podcast, where her work received awards including a National Edward R. Murrow Award and an Online Journalism Award. She was a public radio journalist for several years, including running the digital side of the NPR show Here & Now. Rachel was a 2018-19 Knight-Wallace Fellow at the University of Michigan, where she focused on new approaches to news and media literacy for teenagers. She’s an alumna of the 2016 ONA-Poynter Leadership Academy for Women in Digital Media. Rachel started her journalism career as a local newspaper reporter. Her past adventures include living and traveling on a small sailboat and tour guiding at the Vatican. Rachel is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Kim Kleman is the Executive Director of Report for America, managing a talented team of senior leaders of the organization. As a longtime adjunct professor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, she has taught courses in investigative skills and reporting, among other things. Previously, she was Editor-in-Chief of Consumer Reports, where she led the organization’s showcase brand and galvanized its editorial, testing, survey research and advocacy teams to produce a unique mix of reports. She also spearheaded its digital expansion to tablets and other digital platforms. Kleman was also Editor-in-Chief of The American Lawyer, responsible for leading editorial strategy of ALM’s flagship legal brand and overseeing The American Lawyer website, magazine and daily newsletters. Earlier, she was a reporter and editor at the St. Petersburg Times (now the Tampa Bay Times). She began her career in the Polk County bureau of The Tampa Tribune. Over the course of her 30+ editorial career, her teams have won more than two dozen prestigious awards for work in various media. Kleman is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
