Bridge Michigan provides in-depth coverage of state government and how its policies affect people’s lives, with an emphasis on politics, education, health, business, data and the environment. In 2025, Bridge Michigan introduced two regional newsletters, offering readers localized reporting on the issues and stories most relevant to their communities.

The data and accountability reporter examines public records and datasets to reveal trends, inequities, and hidden patterns in Michigan. The role turns complex information into clear stories, visualizations, and interactive tools that help Michigan residents understand how public policy affects their communities. Centered on transparency and impact, the reporter covers statewide and local issues across education, health, the environment, the economy, and elections, expanding Bridge Michigan’s reach as a trusted source for data-driven journalism.

Salary and Benefits:
$60,000-$74,000 depending on level of experience; $75,000-$92,000 with six of more years of experience
