inewsource is a nonprofit newsroom serving San Diego since 2009 with investigative reporting that safeguards community interests and holds power to account. Through its signature Documenters program, inewsource trains and pays community members to attend public meetings and take notes. inewsource prioritizes innovation, including interactive and illustrated storytelling across platforms, and is the only local member of the Trust Project. Through various media partners, inewsource publishes its journalism on the web, social media, radio and television for local, state and national audiences.

Beat: Federal Impact Reporter

Position:

The Federal Impact Reporter tracks local impacts of Trump administration funding and policy changes on institutions and community members across the San Diego region. This reporter produces a range of stories, from quick-turn dailies on developing news to more in-depth stories, and partners with investigative reporters to bring our readers the fact-based, objective reporting they need to make sense of these shifts. This reporter also produces a regular newsletter to provide the most comprehensive look regionally at reporting on the impacts of federal decisions and policies changes on San Diego communities.

Salary and Benefits:
$55,000 - $65,000, depending on experience.
