Position:

The Alachua County school district recently hired its ninth superintendent since 2010, amid persistently lagging test scores and learning disparities in the county. Meanwhile, the University of Florida, the state's flagship institution, has endured a year of leadership changes, ranking drops, and increased public scrutiny over its governance and stewardship of taxpayer dollars. The education reporter will cover K-12 and UF news while mixing in enterprise reporting to dive deeper into the challenges these institutions face.

Salary and Benefits:
$42,500-$45,000

Shared cost medical/dental/disability insurance is offered. Paid holidays, three weeks PTO, workers' comp, 401(k).

This position will be:
Hybrid (some days in the office per week)

Moving Stipend:
Yes. Exact amount depends on where reporter is moving from.
