Position:

This reporter covers a range of issues across Jefferson County and the Olympic Peninsula, including housing, environment, local government, health care, and the economy. With a focus on in-depth reporting, the reporter asks tough questions of local leaders and examines how wider policy decisions shape daily life in towns like Brinnon, Quilcene, Chimacum, Port Hadlock and Port Ludlow. The reporter develops sources, attends public meetings, files records requests, and produces clear, accurate stories on deadline.

Salary and Benefits:
Pay for the position ranges from $50,000 to $60,000, commensurate with experience.

The Leader offers subsidized health insurance, vacation and medical leave.

Moving Stipend:
The Leader offers reimbursable moving expenses up to $1000.
