The Michigan Chronicle is a news site and a weekly paper that has covered the interests of the African American community in southeast Michigan, with a focus on Detroit, since 1936. Community leaders and residents look to the Chronicle to stay informed about issues that affect their lives.

San Antonio Express-News

The San Antonio Express-News is a regional metro daily and news site with an intense focus on covering the community and its institutions. The Express-News is the third largest daily paper in Texas and has deep roots in its home turf; it's been covering South Texas since 1865. San Antonio is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country, and this news organization's mission is to document the current chapter of San Antonio’s unfolding history as accurately and comprehensively as it can.

The Oregonian/OregonLive

The Oregonian is the oldest continuously operating business in the state, and among the most highly recognized news organizations in the U.S. It knows how to find important stories and how to engage readers, and since 2013, it has married its long tradition of high-impact print journalism with the dynamism of a digital-first approach to public service reporting, complete with data journalism, video storytelling and other immersive elements on OregonLive. This news organization has earned eight Pulitzer Prizes, including the Gold Medal for public service, the highest accolade in journalism.

WHYY

WHYY has been greater Philadelphia's leading public media company and PBS and NPR affiliate for 65 years, serving southeastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware. WHYY offers a robust regional news service supported by a newsroom with over 80 people, and its reporting can also be found online.

Centro de Periodismo Investigativo

The Centro de Periodismo Investigativo is a nonprofit that produces in-depth investigative journalism, published in both Spanish and English, and distributes its content free of charge to readers and media outlets in Puerto Rico and abroad. The CPI has won recognition producing stories on corruption, cronyism in government, electoral campaigns, and public policy in health, education, the economy and the environment. Its work has proven to be crucial and in some instances pivotal in bringing about social change, accountability, recovery and justice.

Georgia Public Broadcasting

Georgia Public Broadcasting's mission is to create high quality programs and services that educate, inform and entertain audiences. GPB TV, Radio and Digital cover all of Georgia and adjacent counties in surrounding states. Operating across all platforms, GPB News is the local host for PBS and NPR news and produces stories of regional importance from its hubs in Atlanta, Macon and Savannah. With a combined broadcast and digital audience of over 4 million, GPB News is also developing a growing presence on social media.

The Midwest Center for Investigative Reporting, a nonprofit, is an award-winning news site based in Champaign, Illinois. It provides in-depth journalism on agribusiness and related issues—agricultural, rural and environmental—covering 12 states in the heartland of the U.S.

San José Spotlight

San José Spotlight is the city’s first nonprofit digital news organization dedicated to independent political and business reporting. It is relentless and unapologetic about its mission to provide public service journalism that ignites civic engagement, educates citizens and strengthens our democracy.

The Post-Crescent

The Post-Crescent has been the primary source of local news and information for Appleton and the Fox Cities since 1853. This news organization focuses on delivering local coverage essential for a healthy community and democracy as well as providing journalism readers can’t get anywhere else. The Post-Crescent, a daily paper and a news site, is part of the USA Today Network, which has 11 papers in Wisconsin covering local news and working closely together on broader stories that are important to readers in every corner of Wisconsin.

Wisconsin Watch

Wisconsin Watch, founded in 2009, is a nonprofit, nonpartisan and independent news outlet based at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It distributes content for free to editors in Wisconsin and beyond, and its guiding values are to protect the vulnerable, expose wrongdoing and seek solutions. In 2020, Wisconsin Watch produced 81 major reports picked up by 401 news organizations, reaching an estimated audience of 43 million.
