IndyStar

IndyStar, also known as The Indianapolis Star, is a daily paper that began publishing in 1903, and the only major daily in the city. This news organization serves the people of central Indiana, via print, mobile and online, and is part of the Gannett Co., the nation's largest newspaper chain. In 2021, the paper won the Pulitzer Prize for national reporting, and earlier investigative reporting earned the paper two Pulitzer Prizes.

Voice of OC

Voice of OC was established in 2009 to cover local civic news. A nonpartisan, nonprofit digital news organization, it produces fact-based news every day on the inner workings of local government and agencies. Voice of OC offers readers free coverage.

Daily Herald

The Daily Herald is a 149-year-old, employee-owned news organization, and the largest in suburban Chicago. These suburbs account for half the population of the Chicago metro area and have the vast majority of the region’s governmental entities. There are 75 towns, 96 school districts and six counties and court systems in this area, offering rich opportunities for enterprising reporters.

Bangor Daily News

A 132-year-old business owned by one family, the Bangor Daily News increasingly serves the entire state with an earlier shift to digital than most midsize papers. This news organization prizes strong journalism that serves readers, and the 127-person team is young, scrappy, and hungry to grow the BDN's journalism, capacity and public service.

Dubuque Telegraph Herald / TH Media

The Telegraph Herald news site and paper, published six days a week, is the nearly-exclusive news source in the Dubuque tri-state area (Dubuque, Iowa sits on the border of Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin). Its mission is to connect the community with high quality journalism, and as a locally-and independently-owned news organization, it takes its role in the community seriously.

KOA Radio

KOA Radio, FM and AM, is a news, talk and sports station in Denver and along with the iHeartRadio app, this news organization prides itself on being Colorado's information station—Colorado's Morning News is its best-rated show. The mission is to be fair, fast and dependable when delivering news to the listening area, and its work has won Murrow and Marconi awards.

Northern Public Radio – WNIJ

Northern Public Radio, a member station of NPR, has a mission to enrich, inspire and inform listeners in northern Illinois through programs and services that share ideas, encourage thought, entertain and create community.

The Land

The Land was created in 2020 to report on Cleveland’s neighborhoods, economy and local government, delivering in-depth stories that foster accountability, inform the community, and inspire people to take action. This nonprofit started with a free website and a newsletter, and today it has built a diverse board, fostered community partnerships, welcomed thousands of subscribers, created an internship program and reporting fellowship for journalists of color, and published hundreds of stories.
