The Connecticut Mirror

The Connecticut Mirror is a nonprofit digital news site with a mission to produce original, in-depth, nonpartisan journalism that informs residents about the impact of public policy, holds government accountable and amplifies diverse voices and perspectives. The goal is a stronger democracy in which all residents can more effectively participate in the development of public policy and hold government accountable for understanding and addressing the needs of the people.

Documented is a nonprofit news site that addresses the lack of local news for and about New York City’s 3.1 million immigrants. It regularly publishes investigative pieces that have had a widespread impact on local policy. The mission is to ensure that immigrant residents are also readers, and in 2019 they launched a Spanish-language WhatsApp-based news service to better serve Spanish-speaking immigrants.

New Mexico In Depth Inc.

New Mexico In Depth is a member-supported nonprofit digital news organization. Its mission is to better the lives of New Mexicans, particularly those from low-income communities, by producing data-rich, investigative stories that can be a catalyst for change. The staff's knowledge of state government and decades of statehouse reporting and investigations into the state’s largest institutions and systems, combined with strong data skills and ambition, results in impact that far exceeds their size.
