The Santa Fe New Mexican/The New Mexican Public Service Journalism Fund/Searchlight New Mexico

The Santa Fe New Mexican is locally owned and independent with statewide influence on public-policy coverage. The New Mexican is the oldest newspaper in the state. The New Mexican Public Service Journalism Fund is fiscally sponsored by the New Mexico Foundation. The fund’s mission is cradle-to-grave accountability storytelling of public-policy issues. Searchlight New Mexico is a statewide investigative news nonprofit focused on high-impact journalism and an initiative of The New Mexican Public Service Journalism Fund.

Hearst Connecticut Media Group

HCMG is the state’s largest newsroom, with around 130 journalists covering breaking news, high school and UConn sports, politics and government, business, real estate and development, education, food and trending topics. We collaborate with Hearst’s DevHub on innovative data journalism.

The Timberjay

The Timberjay a weekly newspaper in northern St. Louis County, serving the communities of Tower, Soudan, Cook, Orr, Ely, Babbitt, and surrounding townships. Published every Saturday with a circulation of about 3,500, the Timberjay serves as the official newspaper for the city of Tower and numerous area townships including Vermilion Lake, Bearville, Morcom, Leiding, Eagles Nest, Field, Embarrass, Kabetogama, and Kugler.

Institute for Public Service Reporting at the University of Memphis

The Institute for Public Service Reporting is a nonprofit newsroom on the campus of the University of Memphis specializing in investigative reporting and in-depth explanatory journalism—an arm of the university with a firewall protecting their editorial independence. Its mission is to provide robust, civic-minded journalism that promotes a vibrant democracy, fosters inclusiveness and enriches the lives of the people of greater Memphis, including many underserved communities. Stories appear on its news site, and on The Daily Memphian, a nonprofit news site.

Times Union

The Times Union is the dominant media organization in NY’s Capital Region, and in the past four years has expanded its coverage area to include the Hudson Valley and (in partnership with a nonprofit) the Adirondacks. In addition to covering the news and events of the region, we are recognized for our statehouse coverage and watchdog journalism. The paper has been in operation since the Civil War and has been part of Hearst Newspaper Group for a century.

J. The Jewish News of Northern California

Named the best Jewish news in the United States, J. The Jewish News of Northern California has an 11-person strong editorial staff and a budget of 2.9M. Nonprofit and completely independent, J.'s mission is to inform, connect and strengthen the diverse Jewish community of Northern California. We fulfill that mission by publishing stories daily online and biweekly in print, covering news from antisemitic incidents to relevant legislation to cultural happenings.

Uvalde Leader-News

The Uvalde Leader-News is a locally-owned newspaper covering Uvalde County, Texas, as the region's primary public information source. Empowered by the freedom and responsibility of the First Amendment, we insist that our reporting be impartial regardless of party, sect, or special interests. KOSU Radio

KOSU is a member-supported public radio network, and its broadcast signals cover two-thirds of Oklahoma with a heavy rural focus.
