Position:

The Community Impact Reporter covers issues that shape daily life for Black and Brown communities in Newark, Paterson, and across New Jersey, including health equity, housing, education, civic participation, and local policy. The reporter investigates the root causes of community challenges, tracks whether proposed solutions deliver results, and highlights voices often overlooked by traditional media. Through service journalism, on-the-ground engagement, and accountability reporting, the role strengthens public understanding and empowers residents to make informed decisions about their lives and communities.

Salary and Benefits: $52,000

Benefits include a health stipend, technology reimbursement, and professional development support. Company-issued laptop, 1 week paid vacation after 6 months, 2 weeks paid vacation after 12 months, 10 paid federal holidays, and accrued personal time.
