The Oklahoma Eagle

The Tulsa Local News Initiative (TLNI) is a nonprofit newsroom serving Tulsa with free, community-centered news. TLNI will launch a new newsroom and integrate the historic Oklahoma Eagle, transitioning it to a nonprofit, digital-first publication. This partnership expands The Eagle’s staff from one to four journalists and provides editorial and business support, ensuring the sustainability of one of the nation’s oldest Black newspapers, which has championed equity and African American advocacy for over 101 years.

The Roanoke Rambler

The Roanoke Rambler is an independent, hyper-local and investigative news site. The weekly online publication’s mission is to inform the public of important issues affecting their lives, uncover societal ills, expose wrongdoing and hold the powerful accountable. Founded in 2021 and journalist-owned, The Rambler is the go-to source for local news in the Roanoke Valley about city government and politics, business, racial and social justice issues and the environment.

Arkansas Times

For 50 years, the Arkansas Times has delivered both mainstream and offbeat news with zest and heart. A progressive voice in a blood-red state, the Arkansas Times chronicles the real-world effects of conservative politics and policy in a poor Southern state. We're also the go-to source for food, arts and entertainment news.

WBHM 90.3

Birmingham-based WBHM serves a city that is home to a vibrant arts community and a nationally-recognized culinary scene. There are auto parts manufacturers and chicken processing plants. Farms dot Alabama’s rural landscape. The University of Alabama at Birmingham is a major research institution. Hispanics make up a growing share of our area. WBHM is the lead station for the Gulf States Newsroom.

Baltimore Beat

Baltimore Beat is a Black-led, nonprofit newspaper dedicated to serving Baltimore's diverse communities with in-depth, community-focused journalism. Through initiatives like Beat Boxes and comprehensive election coverage, it engages youth voters, amplifies underrepresented voices, and tackles issues like police reform and social justice. With community outreach and impactful storytelling, it's committed to providing journalism that drives civic engagement and inspires change.

Central Current

Central Current is a nonprofit, nonpartisan newspaper for Central New York. It provides fact-based news and analysis about the challenges, solutions and opportunities in the region. It's goal is to foster civic engagement and democratic governance, and to help build a more prosperous and healthy community.

Chicago Sun-Times

The Chicago Sun-Times serves readers in Chicago, the six-county metro region and northwest Indiana. For years, it has been providing a voice to the voiceless by publishing the work of a diverse group of journalists. The paper has won eight Pulitzer Prizes, two George Polk Awards for investigative journalism, and numerous other national and local awards for righting wrongs and changing public policy.

Connecticut Public

Connecticut Public is Connecticut’s only state-wide, community-supported public media service. We’re a member station of NPR and PBS. We produce several daily radio newscasts and talk shows. We feature news online at ctpublic.org. We are a nonprofit newsroom with high standards and high expectations. We want to be a place where journalists can produce work that is relevant, impactful, meaningful and memorable.

Evanston RoundTable

Founded in 1988, the Evanston RoundTable is a hyperlocal nonprofit newsroom covering city government, education, arts and culture in Evanston, Illinois. Our mission is to provide fair and accurate reporting on issues that impact the everyday lives of Evanstonians, from the zoning code to the new restaurant down the street, with the goal of fostering civic engagement across our town.

Adirondack Explorer/North Country Public Radio

The Adirondack Explorer was founded in 1998 as a watchdog for the Adirondack Park region of Northern New York. The Park is a blend of private and public lands, with 103 towns and villages. The Explorer focuses on environmental and economic issues and the sustainability of this public park/community model. North Country Public Radio is an NPR member station founded in 1968 serving northern New York and Vermont, including the Adirondack Park. NCPR is a rural news service that seeks to tell the stories and improve the lives of people who are often overlooked by other news outlets.
