El Paso Matters

El Paso Matters is a member-supported, nonpartisan media organization that uses journalism to expand civic capacity in our region. We inform and engage with people in El Paso, Ciudad Juarez and neighboring communities to create solutions-driven conversations about complex issues shaping our region. We were incorporated in 2019 and began publishing in February 2020.

Henrico Citizen

The Henrico Citizen is the independent 19-year-old daily digital hometown news source of Henrico County, Va. – a 330,000-population suburb that surrounds Richmond to the west, north and east and arguably is the true birthplace of the nation. The Citizen’s founder/publisher and managing editor have led the organization since its inception in 2001. Combined, they have nearly 50 years of experience reporting about Henrico – decades more than any other local outlet. They share reporting duties and work with freelance reporters and interns to provide the most thorough coverage of Henrico available.

Houston Defender Network

The Houston Defender was founded in October 1930 and serves the Houston area which includes Harris, Fort Bend and Brazoria counties. As Houston's leading Black information source, the Defender continues to provide the community with news, sports, lifestyle, business, politics and more.

Idaho Statesman

The Idaho Statesman has been the Treasure Valley's news source for 156 years. Our core mission hasn't changed much over the years: provide local, essential reporting that informs our readers about what is happening in the world around them. We aim to arm policy makers and community members alike with exclusive, fact-based reporting, data, context and analysis that allows them to make better decisions for their families and our community. Our coverage area is now made up of Ada and Canyon counties, which includes the Boise city limits, but it used to include four other counties with regularity.

IndyStar

The IndyStar’s mission is to expose what's right and wrong, to shine a spotlight on the unique and special people and places that make Indy special and to look for solutions. With a newsroom staff of about 80, we are the largest news organization in the state and work with roughly 10 other sites as part of our Network including Bloomington, South Bend, Evansville, Henderson and Richmond and Lafayette. The IndyStar is the third largest news organization within USA Today Network not including USA Today.

Richland Source

Richland Source is a free, digital news site that covers Richland, Ashland County and Knox counties in north central Ohio. Its focus is solutions journalism and journalistic responses to questions posed by readers.

The Colorado Sun

The Colorado Sun was founded in September 2018 as a journalist-owned, reader-supported, nonpartisan news organization dedicated to producing in-depth coverage that sheds light on important places, policies and people in Colorado. We emphasize coverage of issues and places that often don't get as much attention from others. Our mission is to produce statewide coverage for Colorado's 5.8 million people. The Sun is a Public Benefit Corporation that always puts service first.

The Connecticut Mirror

The Connecticut Mirror is a nonprofit, nonpartisan news outlet with a very clear mission: Produce deep reporting on government policies and politics, to become an invaluable resource for anyone who lives, works or cares about Connecticut, and to hold our policymakers accountable for their decisions and actions. The Mirror’s staff consists of award-winning editors and reporters with decades of experience in Connecticut newsrooms or working for other national or state news operations.

Mississippi Today

Mississippi Today is dedicated to providing Mississippians with reporting that inspires active interest in their state and equips them to engage in community life.

Sahan Journal

Sahan Journal is a one-month-old, digital-only news website whose mission is to provide fair, groundbreaking coverage that illuminates issues affecting Minnesota immigrants and refugees, and to chronicle how these communities are changing and redefining what it means to be a Minnesotan. We are expanding our audience by partnering with ethnic news media in the state and Minnesota Public Radio News, one of the largest newsrooms in Minnesota.
