Herald and News (Klamath Falls)

The Herald and News is the major local journalistic news source in our region as it is the only daily newspaper in three of the four rural counties we cover in southern Oregon and northern California. The H&N, which got its start in 1906 when it was known as the Evening Herald, is a five-day a week print and online newspaper, with a strong social media presence, that also produces quarterly regional lifestyles magazines, as well as other special feature tabs.  

Albuquerque Journal

The Albuquerque Journal is the only newspaper in New Mexico covering the entire state, from oil and gas country in the southeast and northwest, to the border with Mexico in the southwest, to historic Hispanic and Native American communities in the central and northern state to cowboy country on the east. As the news leader in New Mexico, The Albuquerque Journal’s mission is to provide the most comprehensive coverage of Albuquerque and the state

The Associated Press

The Associated Press is a global news agency that began 172 years ago as a cooperative of five New York City newspapers. With 263 locations in more than 100 countries, AP provides journalism to roughly 15,000 media outlets around the world. AP sets standards for ethics and excellence, and has won 52 Pulitzer Prizes, including the 2016 gold medal for Public Service for an investigation into labor abuses in the seafood industry, reports that freed more than 2,000 slaves. AP’s seven news bureaus in the northeast U.S. provide vital local and regional news to 378 newsrooms.

KUER: NPR Utah

KUER is Utah’s largest NPR affiliate, reaching 165,000 listeners each week from St. George to Pocatello, Idaho. KUER/NPR Utah, licensed through the University of Utah, employs 28 full-time staff including a news director, politics/government editor, a web producer, five reporters, a news/production assistant and two hosts. The mission of KUER News is to provide reporting in the public interest with a developing bent toward investigative, watchdog journalism. KUER produces newscasts during Morning Edition and All Things Considered with midday newscast at noon.  

WCAI: The Cape and Islands NPR Station

WCAI is the local NPR affiliate serving Cape Cod, the South Coast, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. WCAI is dedicated to reflecting the unique character of the region and providing first-rate journalism. A small newsroom producing award-winning radio, WCAI reaches from the industrial legacy cities of New Bedford and Fall River, to the artist-and-LGBTQ mecca of Provincetown, to the working-class neighborhoods of the mid-Cape, to the agricultural resurgence of the near-shore island of Martha’s Vineyard, to the remote villages of Nantucket, 26 miles out to sea. WCAI is grounded in stories of science and the environment, drawing on the intellectual wealth of being home to research laboratories of world-class marine and environmental science institutions. It is the only public media service solely dedicated to covering this broad and diverse region.

Centro de Periodismo Investigativo

Founded in 2007, the Centro de Periodismo Investigativo (CPI) is an independent, non-profit organization promoting news and information access in Puerto Rico through investigative journalism, litigation and journalism training. The CPI is the only entity of its kind in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean dedicated to investigative journalism. Our journalists have produced hundreds of stories on issues such as political corruption, the financing of electoral campaigns, public policy issues in areas such as health, the economy, the environment, education, agriculture and crime, as well as the ways in which private groups benefit from government mismanagement. Published in both Spanish and English, CPI’s work has received more than 30 awards from professional journalism associations in Puerto Rico and abroad.

The Buffalo Bulletin

The Buffalo Bulletin is a weekly print and online newspaper that has served Johnson County, Wyoming since 1884. The newspaper of record, we are family-owned and publish local news exclusively. Each week, The Bulletin publishes news that affects its community members, including coverage of local governing boards, school events, prep sports, economics, industry and politics as well as a weekly editorial and other commentary on their opinion page. The Buffalo Bulletin is the definitive source for news and information in Johnson County.

The Desert Sun

The Desert Sun is a small but mighty newsroom covering the Coachella Valley in Southern California. The Desert Sun is known for its groundbreaking environmental coverage, extensive arts reporting and watchdog journalism. The paper has won numerous awards, including an Edward R. Murrow award for a short film, “Freed But Forgotten: A Proposition 47 Investigation.” As a member of the USA Today network, its reporting regularly also appears in USA Today and 100+ other Gannett Co. papers. In addition to local news coverage, The Desert Sun produces a magazine, DESERT; a music festival called Tachevah; and a community storytelling series.
