Farms dot Alabama’s rural landscape. The University of Alabama at Birmingham is a major research institution. Hispanics make up a growing share of our area. WBHM is the lead station for the Gulf States Newsroom.

Wisconsin Watch is a nonpartisan, nonprofit investigative news outlet that produces investigative reporting, while training current and future investigative journalists. The news outlet has reporters based in Madison, Milwaukee, and Oshkosh with other members of the editorial and business teams located across the state.

The Texas Tribune

The Texas Tribune is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, digital-first news organization that informs and engages with Texans on public policy, politics, government and statewide issues. This news organization's site provides vital information and news to millions of Texans for free, and its journalism is distributed through more than 60 statewide media partners to local outlets. Partnerships with platforms including ProPublica, Apple News, and SmartNews put its content before a nationwide audience.

WHQR Public Media

WHQR is a publicly funded nonprofit radio newsroom serving the Cape Fear Region of North Carolina. As WHQR's newsroom, we are dedicated to fair, in-depth, investigative journalism aimed at holding local government accountable. While our radio waves extend beyond the county we’re housed in, our coverage historically has not gone as far out into rural areas. We aim to change that, and bring our caliber of watchdog coverage to government agencies in surrounding counties.
