The Advocate is Louisiana’s largest daily newspaper, serving the cities of Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Lafayette, and their surrounding regions. The Advocate is committed to providing comprehensive coverage of local news, City Hall, the state house, politics, business, environment and other areas of general interest for our readers, in print and online. With a news and editorial staff of approximately 105 reporters, editors, designers, photographers and digital journalists, The Advocate is the largest daily newspaper in New Orleans and the only print news outlet committed to covering all aspects of the city.

Baltimore Afro-American

The Baltimore Afro-American is a news service, founded in 1892, that writes and reports news for and about African Americans. Staffers' reporting appears on the news site, in the weekly paper, and on social media platforms. The reporting includes a type of advocacy journalism that goes beyond reporting facts, and lends itself to how the news affects African Americans and their communities.

THE CITY (City Report Inc)

The City, a nonprofit digital news platform, is dedicated to hard-hitting reporting that serves the people of New York City, and produces strong people-centered stories that are anchored by data and present policy issues in a clear and accessible form. This news organization was created to address the growing local news gap: crucial city agencies, neighborhoods home to millions of New Yorkers, and some of the most important institutions have been the subject of declining news coverage, or none at all.

The Mendocino Voice

The Mendocino Voice, founded in 2016, is an online, independent news service focused on breaking news, government reporting and environmental and community issues. Publishing daily on the site and across social platforms, it also collaborates with regional outlets. The goal is to provide coverage to communities that were underserved by traditional news outlets, and The Mendocino Voice is transitioning to a community-owned organization to reflect this mission.

The Missouri Independent

The Missouri Independent was founded in October 2020 with a mission to fill the gap in state Capitol coverage created by downsizing newsrooms. This nonpartisan, nonprofit news organization focuses on in-depth, enterprise reporting in the public interest, and provides that work at no charge to readers and other news organizations around the state. It is the largest news organization solely focused on state government and politics in Missouri.
