The Mitchell Republic/Forum News Service

The Mitchell Republic covers 17 mostly rural counties in central South Dakota. The website and twice-weekly print edition are the primary source of community news in the region. This news organization is part of Forum Communications, a network of community-driven newsrooms, broadcast stations and new media services.

Voice of OC

Voice of OC was established in 2009 to cover local civic news. A nonpartisan, nonprofit digital news organization, it produces fact-based news every day on the inner workings of local government and agencies. Voice of OC offers readers free coverage.

AL.com

AL.com is the largest news site in Alabama, and part of the Alabama Media Group. The site has a statewide focus and grew out of the 2012 online combination of the Mobile Press-Register, The Birmingham News and The Huntsville Times, which remain news sources for print readers in those communities. AL.com operates hubs in those three cities, and has 75 reporters, editors, digital producers and videographers based throughout the state.

Wisconsin Watch

Wisconsin Watch, founded in 2009, is a nonprofit, nonpartisan and independent news outlet based at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It distributes content for free to editors in Wisconsin and beyond, and its guiding values are to protect the vulnerable, expose wrongdoing and seek solutions. In 2020, Wisconsin Watch produced 81 major reports picked up by 401 news organizations, reaching an estimated audience of 43 million.

Anchorage Daily News

The Anchorage Daily News is the most-read paper and news site in Alaska, with a mission to hold a mirror to the state, hold officials and institutions accountable and provide robust, high-quality news and information. A history of public service journalism, this news organization has earned three Pulitzers for public service, the most recent in 2020 in collaboration with ProPublica.

Centro de Periodismo Investigativo

The Centro de Periodismo Investigativo is a nonprofit that produces in-depth investigative journalism, published in both Spanish and English, and distributes its content free of charge to readers and media outlets in Puerto Rico and abroad. The CPI has won recognition producing stories on corruption, cronyism in government, electoral campaigns, and public policy in health, education, the economy and the environment. Its work has proven to be crucial and in some instances pivotal in bringing about social change, accountability, recovery and justice.

Community Impact Newspaper

Community Impact Newspaper, a hyperlocal paper started in 2005, has grown to 35 monthly papers in the Austin, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Phoenix, San Antonio, and Nashville metros.This news organization delivers its free papers to 2.7 million mailboxes monthly, and offers free daily digital to support communities.

Dallas Free Press

Dallas Free Press, a nonprofit news site, launched in January 2020 with the mission of amplifying voices and exploring solutions to the city's systemic inequities. It focuses community journalism efforts on three zip codes in South Dallas and West Dallas, which are predominantly Black and Latino neighborhoods, respectively.

Enlace Latino NC

Enlace Latino NC is a nonprofit digital news organization. Its mission is to empower the diverse community of Latino immigrants in North Carolina to become more involved in the political and social changes that affect them, by publishing independent, nonpartisan, public service journalism in Spanish.
