The Mitchell Republic/Forum News Service

The Mitchell Republic covers 17 mostly rural counties in central South Dakota. The website and twice-weekly print edition are the primary source of community news in the region. This news organization is part of Forum Communications, a network of community-driven newsrooms, broadcast stations and new media services.

Seven Days is a free, award-winning weekly paper with a print circulation of 35,000, the largest in Vermont, and a news site. Founded in 1995, Seven Days has been an improbable success story, thriving as traditional print media declined and filling a news void. It's been called “The New Yorker of the north” and for good reason: Seven Days delivers news with depth and context, such as a 5,000-word piece that revealed that people wait months to see specialists at the area's largest hospital. The state launched an immediate investigation in response.

Bay City News Foundation

Bay City News Foundation, a nonprofit news site, provides free, data-driven, public service journalism to the San Francisco Bay Area. The focus is local civic news, regional arts and culture, equity issues, profiles, in-depth packages and environment coverage in the 12-county area.

WHYY

WHYY has been greater Philadelphia's leading public media company and PBS and NPR affiliate for 65 years, serving southeastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware. WHYY offers a robust regional news service supported by a newsroom with over 80 people, and its reporting can also be found online.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is the largest newsroom in the city and has a mission to report what’s going on in the community. Its reporters uncover the truth, protect the public’s right to know, hold community leaders accountable for serving the public, and document the region’s moments, milestones and people. This news organization is owned by Cox Enterprises, a private, family owned company.

Berkeleyside

Berkeleyside, a news site serving Berkeley, California, is part of the Cityside media organization, a nonprofit. Berkeleyside's strength is breaking news and digging deep on issues of accountability. It has created a loyal and highly engaged audience, averaging over 1.5 million monthly page views, and has earned awards for its work.

WJCT

WJCT is a community-owned public media organization serving the Jacksonville region since 1958, using television, radio, digital media and live events to engage the community.
