Since 1978, Valley Public Radio (KVPR) has built a reputation as a trusted news source. It serves over 2 million residents of California's San Joaquin Valley, providing local news, cultural and arts programming and NPR programming.

AL.com

AL.com is the largest news site in Alabama, and part of the Alabama Media Group. The site has a statewide focus and grew out of the 2012 online combination of the Mobile Press-Register, The Birmingham News and The Huntsville Times, which remain news sources for print readers in those communities. AL.com operates hubs in those three cities, and has 75 reporters, editors, digital producers and videographers based throughout the state.

Detroit Free Press

The Traverse City Record-Eagle is a news site and a daily paper with a 165-year history of serving communities in northern Michigan—a steadfast source for watchdog and enterprise journalism.

North Country Public Radio

North Country Public Radio encompasses 34 transmitters and translators that serve a large geographic area—northern New York, western Vermont, southern Ontario and Quebec. NCPR is one of the few organizations that connects and serves the entire region, home to remote mountain hamlets, sparsely populated farming communities, Akwesasne Mohawk towns and tourist meccas. A history of public service journalism, this news organization has earned three Pulitzers for public service, the most recent in 2020 in collaboration with ProPublica.

Documented

Documented is a nonprofit news site that addresses the lack of local news for and about New York City’s 3.1 million immigrants. It regularly publishes investigative pieces that have had a widespread impact on local policy. The mission is to ensure that immigrant residents are also readers, and in 2019 they launched a Spanish-language WhatsApp-based news service to better serve Spanish-speaking immigrants.
