The Land

The Land was created in 2020 to report on Cleveland’s neighborhoods, economy and local government, delivering in-depth stories that foster accountability, inform the community, and inspire people to take action. This nonprofit started with a free website and a newsletter, and today it has built a diverse board, fostered community partnerships, welcomed thousands of subscribers, created an internship program and reporting fellowship for journalists of color, and published hundreds of stories.

KVIA-TV/ABC-7

KVIA-TV/ABC-7 is the decades-long dominant television station serving the El Paso, Texas-Las Cruces, New Mexico region. We stand on a solid journalistic foundation reinforced by experienced managers committed to serving our community while training the next generation of storytellers. KVIA is owned by a 4th generation family company, News-Press & Gazette, which had its genesis in newspapers. We strive to enrich the Borderland through responsible journalism.

The New Bedford Light

The New Bedford Light is a free, nonprofit, nonpartisan digital news outlet dedicated to in-depth coverage of urgent issues facing the City of New Bedford and the South Coast region of Massachusetts, a richly diverse and economically challenged area. In addition to hard-hitting investigative and explanatory stories, we celebrate our unique local culture through inventive coverage of the arts. It's an unusual content mix, tailored to reflect the whole of our complex city. In just over a year of publication, The Light has grown into a professional news organization with a 14-member staff, a neighborhood-based newsroom and a broad community of avid supporters. Our newsroom prioritizes watchdog/accountability journalism; we strive for impact. To date, we have exposed serious inequities in the fishing industry, evictions and gentrification, public health and safety, educational resources and much more.

Longview News-Journal

The Longview News-Journal is part of third-generation, family-owned community newspaper and multimedia news organization. We are committed to digital-first community journalism—not just reporting the news, but also holding officials accountable for their actions. We work to keep the public informed of the news through our print and digital platforms. We strive to be fair, accurate and respectful while reporting the news, from hard-hitting investigations to the daily news and features. Our goal is to use all available journalism tools in the service of reporting on, and bettering, our community.

The People-Sentinel

The People-Sentinel is a for-profit news organization that has served Barnwell County since 1852. We are now expanding into two neighboring rural South Carolina counties, Allendale and Bamberg counties. Our mission is to provide factual, unbiased and accurate reporting to keep our communities informed while holding public officials accountable. In addition to our weekly print newspaper, our website, videos, social media and podcasts keep our community informed.

Metro Puerto Rico

Metro Puerto Rico is a for-profit multi-platform media outlet in Puerto Rico that delivers journalistic information focused on young professional adults. Our printed product reaches all the urban areas with a strategic distribution. Our website reaches the entire audience with Internet access in Puerto Rico.

The Post and Courier

The Post and Courier is the oldest newspaper in the South, the largest in South Carolina, and one of the few independent, family-owned papers left in the United States. That ownership translates into a growing newspaper that is expanding statewide. The Post and Courier was the winner of the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service and a four-time Pulitzer finalist. This is a writer’s newsroom. We value storytelling as a framework for context-filled, investigative reporting.

Arizona Center for Investigative Reporting

The Arizona Center for Investigative Reporting is the state’s only independent, nonpartisan and collaborative nonprofit newsroom dedicated to statewide, data-driven investigative reporting. AZCIR's mission is to hold powerful people and institutions accountable by exposing injustice and systemic inequities through investigative journalism.

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is the product of the 1995 merger of the Milwaukee Journal and Milwaukee Sentinel, newspapers that date to 1882 and 1837, respectively. After two transitions, we are part of the USA TODAY NETWORK, which includes 10 other newsrooms in Wisconsin and 109 newsrooms nationwide. While we regularly do stories with national interest and impact, our focus is fiercely local. We cover Milwaukee, southeastern Wisconsin and the state like no one else does—or can. We are most proud of the day-to-day reporting that chronicles our community, informs our residents and holds officials accountable for what they do. We expose wrongdoing. We highlight programs that work. We engage the community. We help lead the search for solutions.

The Santa Rosa Press Democrat

The Santa Rosa Press Democrat is the flagship of Sonoma Media Investments, a privately held news group serving Northern California's Wine Country. It is the largest news organization between San Francisco and Portland, Oregon, providing breaking news and sophisticated enterprise around key issues including the ongoing drought, wildfires, and children’s health and well-being. The Press Democrat won the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for coverage of the wildfires that killed killed 44 people and destroyed 6,000 homes.
