The Tributary is a nonprofit, nonpartisan newsroom that serves Florida as a vital stream of journalism, holding those in power accountable and diving beneath the surface to tell stories that would otherwise go uncovered. Our mission is to strengthen the statewide and local news ecosystems by investigating entrenched problems and proposed solutions through using news in the public interest and community engagement.

The Woodford Sun Community Newspaper

Founded in 1869, The Woodford Sun, a 156-year-old institution, remains Woodford County’s only independent local news source. In this local news desert, the Sun provides essential, trustworthy, place-based reporting that reflects and connects residents across Versailles, Midway, and surrounding rural communities.

Aspen Daily News

Founded in 1978 as a single broadsheet, the Aspen Daily News ushered in a legacy of free news in the area. Known for our tagline, “If you don’t want it printed, don’t let it happen,” ADN is home to the valley’s largest newsroom of full-time, salaried journalists. As the paper of record for Pitkin and Eagle counties, we deliver news that’s local, accessible and deeply rooted in the communities we serve. Our team of reporters is trusted for award-winning enterprise and investigative work.

Times Union

The Times Union is the dominant media organization in NY’s Capital Region, and in the past four years has expanded its coverage area to include the Hudson Valley and (in partnership with a nonprofit) the Adirondacks. In addition to covering the news and events of the region, we are recognized for our statehouse coverage and watchdog journalism. The paper has been in operation since the Civil War and has been part of Hearst Newspaper Group for a century.

Bridge Michigan

Since 2011, Bridge Michigan has pursued a mission of making Michigan better through high-quality, nonpartisan journalism and engagement. Bridge Michigan provides in-depth coverage of state government and how its policies affect people’s lives, with an emphasis on politics, education, health, business, data and the environment. In 2025, Bridge Michigan introduced two regional newsletters, offering readers localized reporting on the issues and stories most relevant to their communities.

Main Street Media of Tennessee

Main Street Media, founded in 2013, publishes 16 local weekly newspapers in 14 Middle Tennessee counties along with websites, e-newsletters and social media pages. Its focus is hyperlocal coverage, including news, business, government, education, prep sports, and community features.

San Francisco Public Press

Founded in 2009, the San Francisco Public Press is a nonprofit, noncommercial news organization publishing and broadcasting independent public-interest journalism about under-covered topics, focusing on under-served audiences. We offer local investigative and solutions reporting at sfpublicpress.org and via “Civic,” a public affairs podcast also airing on KSFP 102.5 FM, our low-power community radio station. Coverage includes homelessness, housing affordability, public health, sea level rise, environmental equity, transportation safety, digital privacy, immigration and elections.

Uvalde Leader-News

The Uvalde Leader-News is a locally-owned newspaper covering Uvalde County, Texas, as the region's primary public information source.
