Nashville Banner

The new Nashville Banner is a locally owned, community-supported nonprofit news organization that exists as a direct response to the decline of public service journalism in Tennessee. We’re on a mission to tell people something they didn’t already know, and to help them understand what’s at stake for the present and future of our ever-changing city. We deliver daily news that inspires our neighbors to act with agency.

The Maine Monitor

The nonprofit Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting publishes The Maine Monitor as a free digital publication to provide people in Maine with in-depth, nonpartisan, award-winning news which fills information gaps in investigative and rural reporting. Mainers in every county receive its newsletters and the newsroom supports Maine media by providing all of its reporting for free republication.

Cardinal News

Cardinal News is an independent, nonprofit, nonpartisan news site that serves Southwest and Southside Virginia. Our mission is to report the untold stories of Southwest and Southside Virginia, and strengthen the voices of the people in our communities who have been sidelined in the commonwealth’s political, economic and cultural conversations simply because of where they live.

Houston Chronicle

The Houston Chronicle has served the greater Houston metropolitan area for more than a century. As the largest newsgathering operation in Texas, the Chronicle covers a vast and diverse region of more than 7 million people, about two-thirds of whom are people of color. Our mission to keep the community informed hasn’t changed in the past century. But the way we carry out that mission is constantly evolving. We embrace digital tools that let us tell the stories of Houston in novel ways and, most importantly, to listen to our community.

Oregon Public Broadcasting is an independent, nonprofit media organization serving communities across Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. Powered by the generous support of members, OPB connects people through trusted journalism that is freely accessible to everyone.

The Marshall News Messenger

M. Roberts Media is the parent company of seven award-winning newspapers and a variety of magazines and publications that serve Victoria and East Texas. The Texas-based titles include the Victoria Advocate, Longview News-Journal, Tyler Morning Telegraph, The Marshall News Messenger, The Panola Watchman, Kilgore News Herald and The Henderson News. Cascadia Daily News

Cascadia Daily News, a three-year-old news startup, is a hyperlocal, fiercely independent digital/print publication covering Northwest Washington state from a newsroom in Bellingham, WA. CDN's 14 staffers lead the region between Seattle and Vancouver, B.C. in breaking news, enterprise and accountability journalism in a vibrant university city on the Salish Sea. Our collaborative team of seasoned and young journalists is consumer-focused and committed to mixing old traditions with new strategies to push local news forward.

Illinois Times

Illinois Times, a progressive weekly newspaper in Springfield, Illinois, celebrates its 50th year in 2025. A 1978 founding member of the Association of Alternative Newsmedia, Illinois Times is established as a leader in breaking news, in-depth reporting and longform analysis, while also covering arts and entertainment and opinion writing.

Oviedo Community News

Oviedo Community News is a nonprofit, independent newsroom serving Greater Oviedo and Winter Springs, Florida. The Greater Oviedo and Winter Springs community was a news desert before Oviedo Community News launched in 2021. Its mission is to create a better informed and connected community through independent, public service journalism that focuses on issues that residents told us matter to them.
