Door County Knock

Door County Knock is an independent, nonprofit news organization covering Door County, Wisconsin. Knock reports stories on the issues, institutions and decision-makers that affect residents’ lives — including coverage of our county government -- as well as in-depth reporting on economic and social issues such as affordable housing, child care, mental health, addiction and development.

InvestigateWest

InvestigateWest is a nonprofit news organization founded in 2009 that is dedicated to change-making investigative journalism for the Pacific Northwest. The Northwest-based newsroom covers a range of topics including the environment and climate change, health inequities, social justice, voting rights and government accountability. Our reporting appears on our website and is regularly republished by 15 news outlets across Washington, Oregon and Idaho. We also frequently partner with national publications including The Washington Post, The Atlantic and The Guardian.

The Nevada Independent

The Nevada Independent is a nonpartisan, nonprofit, statewide news and opinion website founded in 2017 by veteran political journalist and commentator Jon Ralston. Our team of nearly two dozen produces ethical, unbiased and transparent journalism focused on politics, policy, education, business and the environment. The Indy also produces events, podcasts, videos and Spanish-language content. All our content is paywall-free. We disclose our donors, and are supported by readers, grants, corporations and event sponsorships.

Adirondack Explorer/North Country Public Radio

The Adirondack Explorer was founded in 1998 as a watchdog for the Adirondack Park region of Northern New York. The Park is a blend of private and public lands, with 103 towns and villages. The Explorer focuses on environmental and economic issues and the sustainability of this public park/community model. North Country Public Radio is an NPR member station founded in 1968 serving northern New York and Vermont, including the Adirondack Park. NCPR is a rural news service that seeks to tell the stories and improve the lives of people who are often overlooked by other news outlets.

The Texas Tribune

The Texas Tribune is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, digital-first news organization that informs and engages with Texans on public policy, politics, government and statewide issues. This news organization's site provides vital information and news to millions of Texans for free, and its journalism is distributed through more than 60 statewide media partners to local outlets. Partnerships with platforms including ProPublica, Apple News, and SmartNews put its content before a nationwide audience.

Arizona Luminaria

Arizona Luminaria is a nonprofit, nonpartisan newsroom that publishes news content with local heart and state/national context. Our stories serve readers who want to participate in civic life, hold people in power to account and understand complex issues. We center our borderland's diverse communities, providing coverage in English and Spanish.

The TRiiBE

The TRiiBE is a digital media platform that is reshaping the narrative of Black Chicago. Our original works in journalism and creative storytelling capture the multifaceted essence of the Black experience. The TRiiBE produces and uplifts narratives that drive social justice and equity. We build community through digital engagement, our annual print magazine and public events.

AsAmNews

AsAmNews is a daily digital news site focused on coverage of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. We are published by the nonprofit Asian American Media Inc. Our mission is to drive the narrative about AAPIs and to showcase all that is American about the community.

Traverse City Record-Eagle

The Traverse City Record-Eagle is northern Michigan's largest news outlet, operating print and digital publications, including a daily print edition, a quarterly magazine and two podcasts. The Record-Eagle has a strong history of strong watchdog reporting complemented by artful narrative writing. Our newsroom is situated in downtown Traverse City, but serves a five-county core coverage area as well as broad, growing sections of news desert in northern Michigan.

Blue Ridge Public Radio (BPR)

Blue Ridge Public Radio exists to provide Western North Carolinians with a deeper understanding of one another and the world, by being an essential, independent source of news and cultural content. The most-listened to radio station in the Asheville, NC market, Blue Ridge Public Radio is the NPR affiliate for the region. We provide public media service to 650,000 people through digital platforms and two radio stations–BPR News and BPR Classic–across a 13-county region in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
