Priscilla Totiyapungprasert

Priscilla Totiyapungprasert reports on local health issues for El Paso Matters, a nonprofit news outlet based in El Paso, Texas. Previously, she covered food culture and dining in Phoenix for The Arizona Republic, including reporting on immigrant communities, the restaurant industry, school nutrition and labor abuse. Totiyapungprasert started at The Arizona Republic as an environment fellow, analyzing the disparity in neighborhood air quality and reporting on the health impact of Phoenix air pollution. Holding a bachelor’s degree in journalism from The University of Texas at Austin, she has worked in Germany and Malta.

Rachel Carlton

Rachel Carlton covers the Harris County Commissioners Court in Houston for Community Impact Newspaper, which delivers hyperlocal news. Before joining Community Impact, Carlton was a freelance journalist based in Houston, and a contributor to the “City Cast Houston” podcast. A standout in the 2020 Big Scribble competition, Carlton graduated from Rice University with bachelor’s degrees in cognitive sciences and linguistics. Her first taste of journalism came as a junior at Rice, where she co-authored an opinion piece for the student paper, the Rice Thresher, on the experience of sexual assault survivors. Carlton later joined the paper’s staff and provided key COVID-19 coverage.

Ricardo Delgado

Ricardo Delgado reports for the San Antonio Express-News, covering the expansion of the Hill Country north of San Antonio, Texas. Before joining the Express-News, Delgado reported for the San Antonio Sentinel, and for Capital City Soccer. His foray into journalism started at The University Star, the student-run paper at Texas State University. Inspired by "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” and other programs, Delgado reported on student government meetings, and the ever-changing pandemic.

Sandra Sadek

Sandra Sadek reports on growth in Fort Worth, Texas and the communities impacted by it for the Fort Worth Report, a nonprofit news organization. Previously, Sadek reported local news for the Community Impact Newspaper in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and was the interim news editor of The Fort Stockton Pioneer newspaper in West Texas. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and a minor in international studies from Texas State University, where she reported for the student paper. When she’s not reporting, Sadek enjoys learning languages and training in Taekwondo.
