Nonprofit and completely independent, J.'s mission is to inform, connect and strengthen the diverse Jewish community of Northern California. We fulfill that mission by publishing stories daily online and biweekly in print, covering news from antisemitic incidents to relevant legislation to cultural happenings.

The Download News

The Download is a local Black nonprofit news organization. First incubated by the PA Alliance Foundation in 2022, and newly established as an independent entity in 2025, we are a nimble, growing news startup that serves audiences between 18-45. We chronicle daily life in Black Philadelphia, with care. We aspire to build narrative power that inspires audiences to become active storytellers and engaged participants in civic life, driving intergenerational change.

Black Voice News

Black Voice News, a news site, focuses on advocacy, solutions-oriented and data-driven reporting. It has addressed issues like disparities in health and education, police violence, social justice and civil rights battles. BVN has chronicled some of the most important stories impacting the lives of Black Californians, and given voice to the community while expanding its scope of civic involvement.

Anita Li

Anita Li covers education for the Prince William Times. Li's passion for local nonprofit news started when she interned for WLRN, Miami's NPR station. She graduated from Northwestern University, where she reported for The Daily Northwestern. She has also interned at FOX 5 DC. She speaks Mandarin and Spanish, and is always on the hunt for a good tiramisu.

Dallas Free Press

Dallas Free Press, a nonprofit news site, launched in January 2020 with the mission of amplifying voices and exploring solutions to the city’s systemic inequities. It focuses community journalism efforts on three zip codes in South Dallas and West Dallas, which are predominantly Black and Latino neighborhoods, respectively.

Camilo Diaz Jr.

Prior to joining the Dallas Free Press as a visual journalist, Camilo Diaz Jr. was a video intern at KERA, the NPR and PBS member station for North Texas, where he developed a deep appreciation for video production, making his inner child smile by working at a station he watched growing up. He also worked as a multimedia fellow at the Fort Worth Report, covering local news in his hometown. As a teenager, he began documenting his community and identity through photography, leading him to the world of photojournalism. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a concentration in photojournalism from the University of North Texas.

Isaac Wasserman

Before joining Lookout Eugene-Springfield, Isaac freelanced in sports and news in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and interned at NCAA Photos. Inspired by community and interested in the environment, Isaac began his journalism career focusing on environmental justice stories. During college, he interned with Wisconsin Watch, where he reported on PFAS contamination and its effects on a Madison community. He later interned at the Malheur Enterprise, a rural newspaper in Eastern Oregon, covering the fentanyl crisis and post-wildfire rejuvenation on rangeland. Isaac studied journalism, environmental studies and science communication at the University of Oregon, where he was a Science and Memory Fellow and worked for student publications Flux Magazine and Science Story. He was also a sports photographer at Oregon with Eric Evans Photography.
