If you’re a reporter passionate about local journalism and public service, mark your calendar! Applications for the 2027–2028 WSU Murrow Fellows/Report for Washington program open Aug. 12, 2026.

This first-of-its-kind partnership between Washington State University’s Edward R. Murrow College of Communication and Report for America is working toward an ambitious goal: ensuring every one of Washington’s 39 counties has access to reliable local reporting by 2029 while helping local newsrooms grow stronger and more sustainable.

Reporter positions, newsroom partners, salary ranges and locations will be announced when applications open on Aug. 12, 2026.
