WCMU Public Radio

WCMU public radio went on the air in 1973 and today has eight transmitters covering more than half the state, most of it rural, and a news site. WCMU brings cultural programming and quality news to hundreds of thousands of people who do not have access otherwise. Its mission is to educate, inform, entertain and engage, and in doing so, helping to improve the quality of life for families in central and northern Michigan.

Daily Herald

The Daily Herald is a 149-year-old, employee-owned news organization, and the largest in suburban Chicago. These suburbs account for half the population of the Chicago metro area and have the vast majority of the region’s governmental entities. There are 75 towns, 96 school districts and six counties and court systems in this area, offering rich opportunities for enterprising reporters.

Harvest Public Media

KCUR is the flagship NPR station in Kansas City, Missouri, connecting people to ideas and to each other through news reporting, thoughtful conversations and arts and culture. The station is operated as an editorially independent community service of the University of Missouri-Kansas City, broadcasting 24 hours a day and online. KCUR also leads three public media collaborations: Harvest Public Media, the Kansas News Service and NPR's Midwest Newsroom, a four-state regional news hub.

KOSU

KOSU is a member-supported public radio network, and its broadcast signals cover two-thirds of Oklahoma with a heavy rural focus. This news organization, including a news site, delivers award-winning local news and NPR news. KOSU provides a place for civil discourse through in-depth reporting on agriculture, rural issues, Indigenous affairs, education and health care and conversation.

The Midwest Center for Investigative Reporting, a nonprofit, is an award-winning news site based in Champaign, Illinois. It provides in-depth journalism on agribusiness and related issues—agricultural, rural and environmental—covering 12 states in the heartland of the U.S.

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, a daily paper and news site, is part of the USA Today Network. With about 100 full-time journalists, the Journal Sentinel is recognized nationally for its excellence. While this news organization regularly does stories with national interest and impact, its focus is fiercely local, covering Milwaukee, southeastern Wisconsin and the state. The reporting chronicles the community, informs residents, holds officials accountable, exposes wrongdoing and highlights programs that work, engaging the community and helping to lead the search for solutions.

North State Public Radio (NSPR)

North State Public Radio enhances the civic and cultural vitality of the 11 counties in Northern California it serves by providing reliable and trustworthy news and information. This news organization provides access to varied expressions of music, arts, entertainment and a respectful exchange of ideas.

Northern Public Radio – WNIJ

Northern Public Radio, a member station of NPR, has a mission to enrich, inspire and inform listeners in northern Illinois through programs and services that share ideas, encourage thought, entertain and create community.

PublicSource

PublicSource is a nonprofit online news organization serving the Pittsburgh region. Its mission is to inspire critical thinking and bold ideas through local journalism rooted in facts, excellence, diverse voices and the pursuit of transparency. San Antonio Express-News

The San Antonio Express-News is a regional metro daily and news site with an intense focus on covering the community and its institutions. The Express-News is the third largest daily paper in Texas and has deep roots in its home turf; it's been covering South Texas since 1865.
