New Haven Independent

The New Haven Independent is a daily nonprofit, public-interest local news organization begun in 2005. It is produced in conjunction with the Online Journalism Project, a not-for-profit effort to promote stand-alone and hyperlocal news sites. It primarily features reporting on New Haven neighborhoods, government, politics, criminal justice, schools, business, arts and culture. It links readers to other websites with information about New Haven.

WUFT News

WUFT News is a multiplatform, bilingual student-driven public media newsroom, housed in the Innovation News Center at the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications, and based in Gainesville. It began as WUFT-TV (a PBS affiliate), first airing in 1958, followed by WUFT-FM (an NPR affiliate) in 1981. In 2012, the TV, radio and digital news operations converged into one newsroom to cover north central Florida. The newsroom focuses on a 13-county area.

El Paso Matters

El Paso Matters is a member-supported, nonpartisan media organization that uses journalism to expand civic capacity in our region. We inform and engage with people in El Paso, Ciudad Juarez and neighboring communities to create solutions-driven conversations about complex issues shaping our region. We were incorporated in 2019 and began publishing in February 2020.

PublicSource

PublicSource is a nonpartisan, nonprofit, digital-first media organization dedicated to serving Pittsburgh and the surrounding region with public-service reporting and news analysis. Its mission is to inspire critical thinking and bold ideas through local journalism rooted in facts, diverse voices and the pursuit of transparency. PublicSource currently covers K-12 education, local government, economic development, the environment, health and public safety.

WyoFile

WyoFile is an independent, member-supported, public-interest news service reporting on the people, places and policy of Wyoming. WyoFile’s mission is to inform and engage Wyoming through in-depth reporting in the public interest. WyoFile aims to reestablish the primacy of facts in Wyoming’s public discourse — to ensure that residents, community leaders, business leaders, politicians, agency personnel and policy makers all have access to, and faith in, the information they need to participate effectively in civic life and self governance.

The Pacific Daily News, formerly Guam Daily News, is a morning edition newspaper based in Hagåtña, in the United States territory of Guam. The Pacific Daily News, nicknamed "PDN" by locals, is owned by Gannett Corp. and is published seven days a week. The paper covers Guam, Micronesia and the Pacific Rim region, along with breaking news from the United States and the world.

San José Spotlight

San José Spotlight is a nonprofit news organization dedicated to independent political and business reporting. Its mission is to change the face of local journalism by building a community-supported newsroom that ignites civic engagement, educates citizens and strengthens our democracy. Its coverage area includes San Jose, Santa Clara and the county of Santa Clara.

Henrico Citizen

The Henrico Citizen is the independent 19-year-old daily digital hometown news source of Henrico County, Va. – a 330,000-population suburb that surrounds Richmond to the west, north and east and arguably is the true birthplace of the nation. The Citizen’s founder/publisher and managing editor have led the organization since its inception in 2001. Combined, they have nearly 50 years of experience reporting about Henrico – decades more than any other local outlet. They share reporting duties and work with freelance reporters and interns to provide the most thorough coverage of Henrico available.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution covers the Atlanta metro area, along with state Government, the Legislature, and statewide issues. Staff includes 80 reporters, 23 editors and 49 additional staffers who produce news stories, video documentaries, investigative special projects, podcasts and other journalism. The newspaper is owned by Cox Enterprises, a family-owned company that has been in Atlanta since 1939.

Houston Chronicle

The Houston Chronicle has served the greater Houston metropolitan area for nearly 120 years. The mission has been to tell the stories of a thriving business community, an innovative medical community and one of the most diverse population in the country. We serve more than 6 million people, about two-thirds of whom are people of color, with a large Latino community and are the largest news gathering operation in Texas.
