KCAW

KCAW serves Sitka and seven other communities, from Yakutat to Port Alexander — roughly the same distance between Washington, DC, and Columbus, Ohio. However, for those communities outside of Sitka, there is no other media source, and limited and unreliable internet. KCAW is the sole source of information about everything: from weather and tsunami warnings, to presidential elections.

inewsource is a 10-year-old investigative nonprofit, nonpartisan newsroom dedicated to improving lives in the San Diego region and beyond through impactful, data-based investigative and accountability journalism. We were founded in 2009 amid a deep recession and a catastrophic downsizing of newspapers and network media in San Diego and across the country. Some of the greatest casualties of the disruption were investigative journalists, bulldogs in the industry whose passion was uncovering wrongs and wrongdoers in the name of the public good. That is why we have made it our mission to fill that gap by delivering original investigative reporting that is precise, transparent and impactful.  

Herald and News (Klamath Falls)

The Herald and News is the major local journalistic news source in our region as it is the only daily newspaper in three of the four rural counties we cover in southern Oregon and northern California. The H&N, which got its start in 1906 when it was known as the Evening Herald, is a five-day a week print and online newspaper, with a strong social media presence, that also produces quarterly regional lifestyles magazines, as well as other special feature tabs.  

Green Bay Press-Gazette

The Press-Gazette has been Green Bay’s primary source of local news and information since 1915. We focus on delivering core local coverage essential for a healthy community and democracy as well as providing journalism readers can’t get anywhere else. The Press-Gazette is part of the USA Today Network, which has 11 newspapers in Wisconsin covering local news and working closely together on broader stories that are important to readers in every corner of Wisconsin.  

Wyoming Public Media

Wyoming Public Media is Wyoming’s statewide public radio/media network covering general Wyoming news, state government, and public/cultural affairs. The news department is a regular award recipient, receiving two national Murrow Awards and two national Public Radio News Directors, Inc. (PRNDI) Awards in 2018 alone. Wyoming Public Media’s mission is to cover Wyoming with vital news to Wyomingites.  

Casper Star-Tribune

The Casper Star-Tribune is the premier local news source for the state of Wyoming, covering both Casper, the state’s second-largest city, as well as issues that reverberate throughout all of Wyoming. With a newsroom staff of 17 reporters, editors and photographers, Casper Star-Tribune is the state’s only seven-day-a-week newspaper.

KUER / NPR Utah

KUER is Utah’s largest NPR affiliate, reaching 165,000 listeners each week from St. George to Pocatello, Idaho. KUER/NPR Utah, licensed through the University of Utah, employs 28 full-time staff including a news director, politics/government editor, a web producer, five reporters, a news/production assistant and two hosts. The mission of KUER News is to provide reporting in the public interest with a developing bent toward investigative, watchdog journalism. KUER produces newscasts during Morning Edition and All Things Considered with midday newscast at noon.  

The Salt Lake Tribune

The Salt Lake Tribune is Utah’s largest daily newspaper, founded as an alternative voice in 1871. From air quality to cultural trends to analysis of the Utah Jazz, the news organization’s goal is to inform, enlighten and empower Utahns with news they can trust. The Salt Lake Tribune is Utah’s leader in accountability journalism and investigative reporting, consistently pushing for access, open records and transparency through requests, appeals, legislation and, when necessary, litigation.  

The Desert Sun

The Desert Sun is a small but mighty newsroom covering the Coachella Valley in Southern California. The Desert Sun is known for its groundbreaking environmental coverage, extensive arts reporting and watchdog journalism. The paper has won numerous awards, including an Edward R. Murrow award for a short film, “Freed But Forgotten: A Proposition 47 Investigation.” As a member of the USA Today network, its reporting regularly also appears in USA Today and 100+ other Gannett Co. papers. In addition to local news coverage, The Desert Sun produces a magazine, DESERT; a music festival called Tachevah; and a community storytelling series.
