Marietta Daily Journal

The Marietta Daily Journal reports the news aggressively, but with candor, discretion and fairness. The first Marietta Journal was printed in 1866 on a hand press left behind by Union Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman’s army after the city was burned. The publisher wrote that he “summoned courage” to start the paper “when Marietta was a heap of ashes and a charred mass of ruins.”
