As a training newsroom it is core to our mission to equip aspiring and early career journalists with the tools and collaborative opportunities to learn from Chicago journalists as they report on under-represented communities on Chicago's South and West sides.

Our only agenda is to be a trusted guide. We expose problems, highlight solutions and inspire informed action. Our areas of greatest expertise include city and state politics, Minnesota's congressional delegation in Washington, health, the environment and arts & culture.

The Waco Bridge is an editorially independent, nonprofit newsroom dedicated to empowering Wacoans with high-quality local news and information that connects communities and fosters public engagement. Supported by The Texas Tribune, the Bridge’s goal is to deliver accessible, free news that serves people’s needs.

El Tiempo Latino

Founded in 1991, El Tiempo Latino is a leading Spanish-language newspaper serving the Washington, DC metro area. Its mission is to inform, empower, and advocate for the Latino community through high-quality, culturally relevant journalism. It focuses on issues that matter most to our readers, including immigration, politics, education, and community affairs, ensuring their voices are heard and their concerns are represented in the broader media landscape.

Underscore Native News

Underscore Native News produces Indigenous-centered journalism that illuminates the intersections of sovereignty and justice and portrays the rich diversity of Native communities in the Pacific Northwest. We aim to produce thoughtful, revelatory stories that might otherwise go unreported and unheard, focusing exclusively on tribal communities and the issues that impact them. Through this work, we seek to forge a more equitable media ecosystem, strengthen democracy and improve diversity and representation in journalism.

Fresnoland is a nonprofit, nonpartisan news organization dedicated to making policy public for all residents of California’s central San Joaquin Valley.

Voice of San Diego

Voice of San Diego has been a pioneering investigative, nonprofit news organization since 2005. Our mission is to provide investigative journalism for a better San Diego. Our writers have the freedom and responsibility to tackle the biggest issues in the region. We believe San Diego is strong enough to face its most uncomfortable and intractable problems. But we also seek to educate, enlighten and entertain readers who care about San Diego's future and want an excellent and just government. Voice of San Diego has a unique approach to local journalism. We encourage conversational, engaging writing. We believe complexity is a form of elitism and that journalists are educators to help residents understand their communities, public policy discussions, plans and finances.

Gulf Coast Media

Gulf Coast Media publishes four newspapers in coastal Baldwin County, Alabama. Three are more than 100 years old.
