Documented is a non-profit news site devoted to covering New York City’s immigrant communities and the policies that affect their lives. An estimated 3.2 million immigrants—nearly a half million of them undocumented—live in New York City, comprising 37 percent of the city’s population and 44 percent the workforce. Documented provides original reporting on these communities are impacted by labor policies, law–enforcement practices and directives from local, state and federal governments.

The Charlotte Post

The Charlotte Post Publishing Company is been the mirror to the African-American community in North Carolina's two largest media markets. The company's roots are in the AME Zion Church, where The Messenger was launched in 1878 to provide a faith-based forum for newly emancipated Black people during the Reconstruction period. It is the leading source of news and information in Charlotte's Black community, which makes up about one-third of Mecklenburg County's 1.1 million population. Its sister publication, The Triangle Tribune, was founded in 1998 and is similarly situation in the Raleigh-Durham market, which exceeds 1 million people. The 16-member staff consists of three full-time journalists and three freelance photographers and journalists.

Henrico Citizen

The Henrico Citizen is the independent 19-year-old daily digital hometown news source of Henrico County, Va. – a 330,000-population suburb that surrounds Richmond to the west, north and east and arguably is the true birthplace of the nation. The Citizen’s founder/publisher and managing editor have led the organization since its inception in 2001. Combined, they have nearly 50 years of experience reporting about Henrico – decades more than any other local outlet. They share reporting duties and work with freelance reporters and interns to provide the most thorough coverage of Henrico available.

The Colorado Sun

The Colorado Sun was founded in September 2018 as a journalist-owned, reader-supported, nonpartisan news organization dedicated to producing in-depth coverage that sheds light on important places, policies and people in Colorado. We emphasize coverage of issues and places that often don't get as much attention from others. Our mission is to produce statewide coverage for Colorado's 5.8 million people. The Sun is a Public Benefit Corporation that always puts service first.

Houston Chronicle

The Houston Chronicle has served the greater Houston metropolitan area for nearly 120 years. The mission has been to tell the stories of a thriving business community, an innovative medical community and one of the most diverse population in the country. We serve more than 6 million people, about two-thirds of whom are people of color, with a large Latino community and are the largest news gathering operation in Texas.

The New York Amsterdam News

The New York Amsterdam News was started more than a century ago and has gone on to become one of the most prominent newspapers in the country targeted to an African American audience. The newspaper has broadened its reach to include an increasingly multi-racial and multi-ethnic readership in New York City and beyond. Still, it remains the primary voice of one of the largest and most influential Black communities in the nation. It seeks to highlight the issues that most deeply impact communities of color in New York, the United States and around the world.

Houston Defender Network

The Houston Defender was founded in October 1930 and serves the Houston area which includes Harris, Fort Bend and Brazoria counties. As Houston's leading Black information source, the Defender continues to provide the community with news, sports, lifestyle, business, politics and more.

The Plug

Launched in 2016 as the first daily tech newsletter, The Plug investigates and reports on Black tech trends, stories, and breaking news.

Idaho Statesman

The Idaho Statesman has been the Treasure Valley's news source for 156 years. Our core mission hasn't changed much over the years: provide local, essential reporting that informs our readers about what is happening in the world around them. We aim to arm policy makers and community members alike with exclusive, fact-based reporting, data, context and analysis that allows them to make better decisions for their families and our community. Our coverage area is now made up of Ada and Canyon counties, which includes the Boise city limits, but it used to include four other counties with regularity.
